Summary:

This article details the new features, enhancements, and bug fixes found in this version v5.2.41209 of Solver Private Host. This guide documents all changes to the application since the previous version of Private Host (5.2.40514) and is not a comprehensive list of all changes made since the first version of Private Host.

Who Should Read This

This article contains both technical and product feature information. It is recommended that all users of the Solver implementation review this article to understand the new features and changes introduced by this new version of Solver Private Host. 

Software Download

Please request a copy of the installer by submitting a ticket via support.solverglobal.com.

System Requirements, Installations, and Upgrades

Please reference the Solver Private Host Installation Guide before installing or upgrading to this version of Private Host. The upgrade involves database changes to the below list of Solver Databases and backups of these databases (names may be different for your implementation) must be taken prior to performing the upgrade.

• Solver_Scheduler

Additionally,

• This release requires an upgrade to Service Fabric . Please take a snapshot of your Services server prior to performing the Service Fabric upgrade. 
• Recommended upgrade of the Report Degner application for all end users. Users will be prompted to install the latest version upon opening a report in Excel. 

Upgrades should be done during a planned maintenance period. The time it takes to perform the upgrade, assuming no issues, will be dependent on the infrastructure allocated to the above machines. Please reference our installation guide for information on installing and upgrading your Private Host install.

Data Warehouse

The following are highlighted, new features and enhancements in this version of Private Host.

1. Update Data Warehouse menus to display dates in the logged in user’s time zone.
   In previous version of Private Host, the Data Warehouse menu showed the UTC datetime instead of the logged in user’s local time.

3. Support Rolling Periods in Rules and Jobs.
   This version of Private Host allows users to implement rolling periods for integrations and rules in a Job that has a period parameter. These data load steps will now have the option of manually choosing periods (current functionality) or setting a rolling period which will “move” forward as the year progresses based off the defined calculation.
   • Customers must upgrade their Service Fabric install to get this feature
   • Rules require updated syntax on the period dimension, documented here (ref: rollingPeriod).
     
     
4. Streamline integration “Publish” action.
   This version of Private Host introduced an improved Publish Integration action for performance improvements in many situations.

Portal

The following are highlighted, new features and enhancements found in this version of Private Host.

1. Re-introduce Data Manager
   This version re-introduces Data Manager for Private Host clients. This feature was removed in the prior version but is now re-introduced. Access to Data Manager is granted via a permission from the Administration menu

2. Address use cases where certain data access operators did not work.
   This version of Private Host resolves two specific issues with data access operators.
   • The <> operator did not work, resulting in you getting no data vs acting as an “anything but” operator.
   • Dragging in full access could result in no data access.

Reporting

The following are highlighted, new features and enhancements found in this version of Private Host

2. Budget Template performance improvement
   We are constantly looking to make improvements to our rendering and interaction times within the web. This version of Private Host will introduce a performance improvement specifically with budget templates that had lag time after typing in a value.
3. Date Parameter goes back one day.
   This version of Private Host corrects issues with Date Selector parameter types and the quick selection options (this year, this month…) going back one day when executing a report.
