Summary:
This article troubleshoots an error that occurs when importing a tree with duplicate account codes that worked in 4x after upgrading to 5x due to differences in the process.
Article Sections:
Symptoms:
When a user attempts to import a tree that worked in 4x into a 5x environment, they receive the following error message:
"A child's total percentage shall not exceed 100 percent."
Causes:
The import file has a duplicate account code whose total ownership exceeds 100 percent.
Resolution:
Adjust the percentage ownership to equal 100 or remove the duplicate account code. Once the import file has been fixed, re-import it into the data warehouse manager and it should resolve the error message.
In some scenarios, users must have duplicate accounts because they have accounts that need to be in two locations of the tree. This is possible in both 4x and 5x but the process is slightly different.
When creating and importing trees within 5x, duplicate childs' ownership must all add up to 100.
For example, if in one tree the ownership of all duplicate children is 100 percent, then this tree will receive the error when imported. Within another tree, the duplicate children add up to 100. This tree will be able to import with no error message.
