User gets timeout error when report is ran from Report Designer or Portal in Private Host.
System.Exception: There was a problem executing the report. ---> System.Exception: System.AggregateException: One or more errors occurred. ---> System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Execution Timeout Expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding. ---> System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: The wait operation timed out.
This is caused by default timeout period is set to 5 minutes in the database.
To resolve this, please increase the "ExecuteReportservice.timeoutinseconds" value to 1200 or higher. Here are steps to make that change.
1. Go to SQL server management studio where Solver_Repository database is located.
2. Create a new query pointing to Solver_Repository database and do following query.
select * from mastersettings
It should look like this image.
3. Do following query to update the value.
set value = 1200 (or higher)
where key = 'ExecuteReportService.TimeoutinSeconds'
4. Test the report again.
