Summary:
This article details how to use concurrent queries and how it can improve report performance. Concurrent queries is an option in BI360 Administration to allow for multiple queries to be executed simultaneously for optimum performance.
Method:
In order to view the maximum number of concurrent queries, run BI360 Administration and click on System Settings.
On the System Settings page, in the Advanced section there is a maximum concurrent queries section.
The default is set to zero but if the user would like to set concurrent queries, the recommended number is the number of cores of the SQL server divided by 2. However, since not all computer systems are the same, the best way to find the number of concurrent queries for optimum performance is to compare the average performance of queries with a low/high number and an outlier.
Please ensure that each test has at least two or three runs of a report in order to get an average performance.
