Summary:
This article details how to import data when the Data Warehouse has a fiscal year configuration offset from the calendar year.
Method:
When importing data into Data Explorer when the customer has fiscal year configuration, follow this diagram:
The TimePeriod column in Data Explorer will always display the calendar year because every transaction happens on a date and our logic is that TimePeriod is the calendar date on which the transaction occurred.
The way fiscal year comes into play is when searching for data in Data Explorer. Search uses the fiscal year and the results will have the TimePeriod in calendar year.
So using the screenshot's fiscal year setup, the user's import file should ideally have the calendar year in the yyymmdd format. After the import, the TimePeriod column will show the exact same calendar year format. But when searching for data in the Data Explorer, the user will use the fiscal year associated with the calendar year.
